Day 1-April 17, 2007- Rome, Italy
Evening Flight to Rome, Italy
Day 2- April 18, 2007 - CORTONA
We arrive in Rome, Italy at 11 the following morning, Meet our
private motor coach and enjoy a comfortable drive to the charming
Tuscany town of Cortona.

Day 2- April 18, 2007 - CORTONA
We check into our rooms at the Hotel San Luca and enjoy our first
sunset over Tusany at a welcome cocktail party Leonardo has put
together.


Then… it is off to dinner at Trattoria Toscana


Day 3 April 19, 2007 -CORTONA
Today we will explore the vineyards and beautiful countryside of
Cortona and Montepulciano. Giovani takes to the school ITAS "Vegni"
and tells us about typical DOC wines made in Cortona.


Then it’s off to the Avignonesi Estate. One of Italy’s oldest and
most acclaimed wineries.


Montepulciano in the past was a pawn in the epic struggle
between Siena and Florence. Today it is a quiet town of stately
renaissance palaces and churches. The surrounding fields produce a
vilot-scented, ruby red wine called Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (DOCG),
on of the country’s stellar wines.

First we visit at "Contucci" Cellar where we have a tour and a
tasting.


LUNCH...
Then a tour of the city.


From Montepulciano it’s off to Pienza. Here we have a tasting of
Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegar

That night we have a fabulous dinner in Cortona at Ristorante La
Bucaccia

Day 4 April 20, 2007 – Montalcino
First it’s off to visit Castello Banfi.

After a tour of the winery and tasting...

It’s off to the castle for lunch

Then another tour and tasting in the town of Montalcino



Day 5 April 21, 2007 - CORTONA
Cortona is magnificently situated, with olives and vineyards
creeping up to its wall. It is a town for food and art lovers. On
our tour we see art treasures from the ancient Romanesque,Etruscan,
and Renaissance periods.


Giovani takes us on a tour of the historic town of Cortona



We visit a Monastery, see a panoramic view of Tuscany and walk
down to admire the Churches and the beauty of the town.

We stop by to see the Home of "Under the Tuscan" Author
Frances Mayes



Then Giovani takes us his family’s shop and lets us taste typical
foods from Tuscany.




Day 6 April 22, 2007- San Gimignano
We will depart from Cortona and begin our
drive to San Gimignano. Prior to arrival in San Gimignano we stop in
Siena, a medieval jewel of brick and clay tile, set on hilltops in
the center of Tuscany.

Our walking tour takes us to Piazza del Campo, home to he
Palazzo Publico (town hall) with its majestic bell tower and
the Great Fountain by master Jacopo della Quercia.


That afternoon we visit LeTre Stella Winery in San
Gimignano.

Donatella gives us a tour of the winery.

While her sister and mother prepare a for a tasting of their
wines "Family Style".

That evening we enjoy a sunset dinner at Le Vecchie Muva

Day 7 April 23, 2007
San Gimignano/Chianti
Today we will explore the vineyards and nearby villages of San
Gimignano.First we visit the Fattoria La Ripa for a Chianti Wine
Tasting


Then to the private Castello di Verrazzano in Chianti for a tour,
wine tasting and Lunch



Before returning back to San Gimignano,we will stop in Greve and
visit an enoteca that has enormatic tasting system.

Day 8 April 24, 2007
San Gimignano / Florence
A full day of sightseeing awaits us as we drive to nearby
Florence.

We have a walking tour in the footsteps of Michelangelo,
his forefathers and his contemporaries. First we visit to the Uffizi
Gallery.

After lunch it’s off to Galleria dell'Accademia to see the Statue
of David.

So much to do, so little time. Enjoy!

In the morning we will arrive in
Rome, Italy. We will meet our private motor coach and enjoy a
comfortable drive to the charming Tuscany town of Cortona.
Cortona is

taste many foods and wines from the local region. After hotel check in
you will have time to explore on your own or just relax from your
travels.

Day 3 Thur April 19th
Cortona (dinner included)
Today we will explore the vineyards and
beautiful countryside of Cortona and Montepulciano. Our guide will meet
us for a visit to the school ITAS "Vegni" for a wine lecture and tasting
of typical DOC wines made in Cortona
Our next stop will be Montepulciano for a
wine tasting and visit at "Contucci" Cellar, Followed by a visit to the
old "Redi" cellar. Lunch will be in the center of town.
Day 4 Fri April 20th
Cortona (lunch included)

Located in Montalcino
• Visit to a Pecorino (sheep’s milk)
factory in Pienza
We will visit to the towns of Montalcino
and Pienza for shopping. And we will have lunch at the Castello Banfi.
The evening is free for you to explore
Cortona on your own.
Day 5 Sat April 21st
Cortona (Lunch Included)
Our guide will take us for a half day
tour of the historic town of Cortona: a panoramic view over
Tuscany and Lake Trasimeno from the
square of the Medici Fortress and of the Basilica, a walk
down to admire Churches and the beauty of
the town.
Then afterwards our local guide will take
us on a presentation of typical Tuscan foods and shops.
The rest of the day free to shop and
relax.
Day 6 Sun April 22nd
Cortona/San Gimignano (dinner included)
We will depart from Cortona and drive to
San Gimignano. Prior to arrival in San Gimignano there will be a stop At
Siena for lunch and a walk threw the city. Later in the afternoon we
will continue our travels to San Gimignano. After a short drive we will
arrive in this unusual village. We will have a tour of San Gimignano
then the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 7 Mon April 23rd
