Senior
Paws & Furry Friends
Mission and Vision
The mission of Senior Paws & Furry Friends is to
create a safe, cage-free haven for abused,
abandoned, and senior animals. The ultimate goal is
permanent placement with a loving, responsible human
or in the case of elderly animals, a life long
retirement community environment
History
Senior Paws & Furry Friends was founded in October
2007 by Libby Shields, Leyanne Battle, and Debbie
Dillon. Before founding the organization, the group
members worked in a variety of business's, but spent
much of their time as volunteers rescuing and caring
for homeless and/or endangered animals. Seeing the
overwhelming need in the animal rescue and support
arena, the group eventually united their passion,
knowledge and experience to work within this
challenging environment.
Their intention was to form an organization designed
to increase the safe options for keeping animals off
the street and in warm, loving environments. The
operation is currently run from the group’s
individual homes, including fostering and animal
care and continues to operate out of the staff
members’ homes with a growing foster care and
volunteer support base.
