FRIDAY, JULY 23rd Opening Night “Hairspray”
at the Strand Theatre July 23 – August 8, Various days
and times. Hairspray! Presented by the Atlanta Lyric Theatre. The
year is 1962 and Baltimore’s Tracy Turnblad is going to do whatever
it takes to dance her way onto TV’s most popular show in this
award-winning musical that was made into a movie in 2007. Tickets

SATURDAY, JULY 24th Marietta Square Farmers
Market”( 9 a.m.- 12 noon) located on the Historic Marietta Square.
The market will take place every Saturday – rain or shine
– from May 2nd through August 2009. The market has products that are
Georgia grown, made or produced. That include fresh vegetables,
fruits, herbs, plants, flowers, honey, breads, garlic, cheese and
other such items
SATURDAY, JULY 24th (2:00pm- 4:00pm) Wine
Tasting at the Marietta Wine Market. Theme: “In the Pink” (Open to
the Public) Cost: Charity Donation: Susan G. Komen This
Saturday our charit will be the Susan G. Komen Cancer Fund. Please
come out and help support this worthwhile charity and their effort
to eradicate breast cancer in our lifetime.Wines for this event will
include Aria Sparkling Rose, Louis Picamelot Cremant de Bourgogne,
Belleruche French Rose, Hillinger Sparkling Pinot Noir and Elio
Baronne Bigaro.
MONDAY, JULY 26th “Guided Tours of The Strand”
(10am) The Strand now offers guided tours of the historic
theatre and event rental space. Participants will have the
opportunity to learn about the history of the theatre dating back to
the 1930s, recent renovation efforts and fun facts about the theatre
business. The tour ends on the rooftop Cobb Terrace with an
excellent view of Marietta Square and Kennesaw Mountain. Tours are
offered Monday and Friday mornings at 10am. Tickets are $5 and may
be purchased at the box office. More information is available at

Theme: “Sebeka Wines” Open to the Public) Cost: Charity Donation:
Good Mews Our charity this Wednesday is
the Good Mews Animal Shelter for cats. We have chosen to taste
Sebeka Wines from South Africa for this event. Not only will your
donations help some deserving cats in this country, a portion of
each bottle sold of Sebeka Wines will go to Kruger National Park in
South Africa to help preserve the wild Cheetas that roam the park.It
would be a real "CAT" tastrophy to miss this tasting!

Association –After Hours Social at the Marietta Wine Market 5-8pm
Cost: FREE Not a wine drinker ???? Have no fear….At this
event we will serve …Wine, water, soda and some BEER!!! MBA members
and their friends are invited to come. The MBA is a great way to

FRIDAY, JULY 30th The Glover Park Free
Concert Series is “the” place to be in Marietta the last
Friday evening of each month April through August. The park is the
perfect setting for families and friends to enjoy a picnic and
listen music under the stars!
A limited number of tables are available for rent. Tables may be
reserved on the first working day of the month beginning at 8:00 AM,
770-794-5601. Blankets and lawn chairs only are allowed in the park
and may be put out after 4:00 PM on Friday afternoon. No tarps or
tents allowed! Tables and chairs may be brought and set up in the
street on North Park Square after 6:00 PM. Call Marietta Parks &Rec

Once a year the Marietta Wine
Market organizes a wine and culinary tour to wine regions around the
world. Our past trips have included Italy, Argentina, Chile, and
South Africa. On April, the 16th, of 2011 we leave for perhaps it
will be our best trip ever. Australia & New Zealand
The countries of Australia and New
Zealand not only produce exciting wines, but they also offer some of
the most beautiful scenery in the world . Highlights of the tour
will be a visit to the Great Barrier Reef, the Opera House in
Sydney, both North and South Islands of New Zealand as well as
wineries in the Barossa Valley, Adelaide,and Marlborough.
Our tour guide Leonardo will be
here on July 17th from 2pm to 4pm with the latest info. including
prices and destinations .We will also be tasting wines from both
countries to complete the experience. Make plans now to attend. If
you can't attend but would like more info on the trip you can call

SATURDAY, JULY 31st “45h Annual Christmas
in July (8:30am-12:30pm) Come join the merchants on the
Marietta Square and start your Christmas shopping early. Most
participating merchants will offer special discounts, promotions or
free give-aways during the event.

10am - 12pm - Santa arrives on the Square! (Photos will begin during
this time)
2pm - 4pm - Charity Wine Tasting at Marietta Wine Market.
Readings of "Elf on a Shelf" by a costumed character done every
hour.
The Fur Bus will be accepting donations all day!

Georgia. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. Marietta is a gem of

never leave. Whether it is the departed spirit of a civil war soldier or
a mysterious resident of one of Marietta's stately homes or businesses,

The Glover Park Concert Series
is “the” place to be in Marietta the last Friday evening of each month
April through August. The park is the perfect setting for families and

“Scary-etta” (7-8:30pm) -
Eat, Drink & Be Scary Step aboard the trolley for a spirited 90 minute
fully-narrated ride through Marietta. Learn the history of Marietta
though the eyes of the dearly departed. Hear stories of the ghosts
residing in the Kennesaw House and the story of the haunted Mary Meinert
statue at the St. James Episcopal Cemetery. Walk briefly around the
Marietta City Cemetery and hear the story of Marietta’s most famous
ghost the “Lady in Black.” The ride concludes with a haunting at a local
pub and former fire house that is full of spirits, both supernatural and
intoxicating. Private tours and group rates are available. For more

“Mice Tours
for Toddlers” at the Marietta Museum of History for toddlers ages 3-5
and their parents the 2nd Wed of each Month. The purpose of
the 45-minute tours is to introduce toddlers to history through very
basic concepts like shapes, sounds, games, tools and jobs. Museum
Mascots Murray and Etta are whimsical cartoon mice that help convey the
themes for the tours and provide a little fun. Costumed docents lead the
tours that offer a variety of activities including story time and
crafts. Tours begin at 10:30 am, Reservations Required, $5 per family.

“Spirits & Spirits Ghost Tours”.
Joni
will begin Spirits & Spirits Ghost Tours leaving from the Marietta
Wine Market the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
Spirits and Spirits
Tours will begin at 7:30 at the Marietta Wine Market and includes
one glass of wine while you listen to some of the area's ghost
stories. We will then depart at 7:30 into the Square for a one hour
walking ghost tour. (Cost $15pp.) A different theme stories (to be
told at MWM) each month. Private Spirits & Spirits Ghost Tours also
available Mon- Sat.
“First Friday on the
Square & Art Walk 2009” (6pm-9pm) First Friday Art Walk
is a free self-guided tour of the Marietta Square’s galleries, museums,
cultural venues, restaurants and businesses on the
first Friday of every month, April – October
(except for July), rain or shine. New this year is “Artist’s
Alley” an area where artists can exhibits their works. The Artist’s
Alley will be in the courtyard outside the Marietta Welcome Center &
Visitors Bureau, in the historic train depot at 4 Depot Street.

Participating shops and galleries are open late and offer
in-store events and so much more. Art Walk Maps available at the
Marietta Welcome Center & participating shops. Get your map stamped at
Art Walk locations along the way and earn a free gift bag at the last
stop.

Wine Market at 10am. and begin the day with pastries, coffee & mimosas.
Then off to Dahlonega, GA and our first stop the Wolf Mountain Winery.
There we will enjoy their Jazz Brunch and take a tour of their winery.
From there it’s off to visit and tour the Monteluca Winery & Do a

ranging in price from $15-$40pp. Wine Tastings, Ghost & Trolley
Tours, Concerts, Festivals, Dinner and the Theatre.
Have a “Private Wine Tasting at the Marietta Wine Market”.
For $15pp we will help you pick a theme, varietal(s) or region(s)
that your would like to learn more about. We typically serve 6 wines

of the restaurants on the square have rooms available to accommodate
groups for dinner after your tasting or have evening entertainment.
